(1). Fishing is my favorite sport. I often fish for hours without catching anything. But this does not worry me.

钓鱼是我的爱好，我常常垂钓很长时间而一无所得，但这并不使我烦恼。

(2). Some fishermen are unlucky. Instead of catching fish, they catch old boots and rubbish.

有些渔夫不走运，他们没钓鱼，钓着的却是破皮靴或废物。

(3). I am even less lucky. I never catch anything-not even old boots.

我则更不走运，我从来不曾犯错误到什么东西，就连破靴子也钓不着。

(4). After having spent whole mornings on the river, I always go home with an empty bag.

我常常整整一上午都呆在河边，回家时空着手。

(5). ’You must give up fishing!’ my friends say.’ It’s a waste of time.’

朋友们劝我，“你还是放弃钓鱼吧!简直浪费时间。”

(6). But they don’t realize one important thing.

其实他们哪里知道其中的奥妙

(7). I’m not really interested in fishing. I am only interested in sitting in a boat and doing nothing at all!

我不是真正对钓鱼感兴趣，我只是觉得独乘小舟无所事事最为有趣。
