(1). Jasper White is one of those rare people who believe in ancient myths.

JasperWhite是个少见的人，他迷信古代的神话。

(2). He has just bought a new house in the city, but ever since he moved in, he has had trouble with motorists.

他刚在城里买了一幢新房子，但自从搬进去以后，汽车驾驶员一直找他的麻烦。

(3). When he returns home at night, he always finds that someone has parked a car outside his gate

(4). Because of this, he has not been able to get his own car into his garage even once.

(5). Jasper has put up’ No Parking’ signs outside his gate, but these have not had any effect.

Jasper在他的大门外贴上“不准停车”的标志，但毫无效果。

(6). Now he has put an ugly stone head over the gate. It is one of the ugliest faces I have ever seen. the Gorgon.

现在他在大门上挂了一个丑陋的石雕人头像。我从未见过这么丑的人头像。

(7). I asked him what it was and he told me that it was Medusa

我问他这是什么，他说这是蛇身女怪美杜莎.

(8). Jasper hopes that she will turn motorists to stone. But none of them has been turned to stone yet!

Jasper希望女魔把开汽车的人变成石头，可是至今谁也没有变成石头!
