[1]乔治·高顿·拜伦（George Gordon Byron，1788—1824），浪漫主义诗人。10岁时即承袭男爵爵位。毕业于剑桥大学。读书时就出版诗集《懒散的时刻》（1807），评论界没有给予好评，伤害了他的自尊心，遂写出一首言辞激烈的讽刺诗《英格兰吟游诗人和苏格兰评论家》予以回击，将当代的文化名人逐一挖苦、贬损。1812年，长诗《恰尔德·哈罗尔德游记》前两章出版，获得好评，随即自封为“诗歌王国的拿破仑”。后又写出长诗《唐璜》。1824年前往希腊，参与那里的民族解放运动。在一次军事行动中患热病去世。
