(1). I used to travel by air a great deal when I was a boy.

当我还是个孩子的时候，我常坐飞机旅行。

(2). My parents, used to live in South America and I used to fly there from Europe in the holidays.

我父母那时住在南美，我常在假日从欧洲飞到他们那儿。

(3). An air-hostess would take charge of me and I never had an unpleasant experience.

有位飞机女乘务员总是照顾我，我从未有过不愉快的经历。

(4). I am used to traveling by air and only on one occasion have I ever felt frightened.

(5). After taking off, we were flying low over the city and slowly gaining height, when the plane suddenly turned round and flew back to the airport.

收音机起飞后，正在城市上空作低空飞行，并且慢慢逐步升高，突然飞机掉转头来，飞回机场。

(6). While we were waiting to land, an airhostess told us to keep calm and to get off the plane quietly as soon as it had touched down.

当我们在等待着陆时，一位女乘务员叫我们保持镇静，等飞机一着陆，就立刻平静地离开飞机。

(7). Everybody on board was worried and we were curious to find out what had happened.

飞机上所有的人都很着急，我们急于想了解出了什么事。

(8). Later we learnt that there was a very important person on board. The police had been told that a bomb had been planted on the plane.

后来才知道，飞机上有位非常重要的人物，警察获悉飞机上藏了一枚炸弹。

(9). After we had landed, the plane was searched thoroughly.

我们着陆后，飞机被彻底搜查了一遍。

(10). Fortunately, nothing was found and five hours later we were able to take off again.

幸好，什么也没发现。五小时后我们又能起飞了。
