(2). I live near an airport and passing planes can be heard night and day.

我住在飞机场附近，过往的飞机白天黑夜地吵人

(3). The airport was built during the war, but for some reason it could not be used then.

这机场虽然建于战争时期，但由于某种原因当时没有交付使用。

(4). Last year, however, it came into use

然而，去年这个机场却投入使用了。

(5). Over a hundred people must have been driven away from their homes by the noise. I am one of the few people left.

共有一百多人因为怕吵而被迫搬了家，只剩下我和很少的几户人家了。

(6). Sometimes I think this house will be knocked down by a passing plane.

有时我想我的房子将被一架过往的飞机撞坍。

(7). I have been offered a large sum of money to go away, but I am determined to stay here

有人曾出一大笔钱要我搬家，但我还是决定不搬。

(8). Everybody says I must be mad and they are probably right.

大家都说我一定是疯了，他们也许说对了。
